Once 'Yukjo Street,' lined with royal government offices — now a public square for all.

After King Taejo moved the capital to Hanyang in 1394 and raised Gyeongbokgung, the ministries of Joseon lined the road before it and it became Yukjo Street. The road where the business of the state passed is now a square anyone may sit in.
