The birthplace of Sindang-dong tteokbokki — where gochujang tteokbokki was born.
In 1953, grandmother Ma Bok-lim tasted a rice cake that had dropped into black-bean noodles and dreamed up a gochujang sauce — the beginning of Sindang-dong tteokbokki. The whole alley grew into a tteokbokki street, and her house still serves it cooked at your table.
